MARK YOUR CALENDAR for Saturday, July 14th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
That's when Project POOCH will host POOCH-In the-Park, a day of canine capering and cavorting,
at the Mary S. Young Dog Park,
20100 Willamette Drive, West Linn, Oregon.
The goal of this event is fun for dogs and fundraising for Project POOCH. There will be doggy games, races, and contests
with prizes for the winners and treats for all.
100% of the proceeds will benefit Project POOCH, a non-profit matching homeless dogs with incarcerated youths. The youths learn to care for
and train their dogs and prepare them for adoption into permanent homes.
Project POOCH benefits unwanted dogs, youth in crisis, and the communities who accept these youths upon their release and adopt trained POOCH dogs.
It's WIN-WIN for everyone!
Since Portland is known as the dog-friendliest place in the USA, we're expecting a big turn out. We’re looking forward to seeing a lot of our grads,
former POOCH dogs, with the people who adopted them.
The Mary S. Young Dog Park is a great site with 3.19 acres of play space. In addition to the dog park, Mary S. Young offers 5-8 miles of forest hiking
trails and a beach area along the Willamette River.
The park offers both open space and shady places, picnic tables, garbage cans, running water, and poop bags. Since the dog park is not fenced,
we ask you to keep your dogs leashed.
POOCH-In-the-Park is the inspiration of West Linn resident and event planner, PATTI GALLE, ably supported by a volunteer planning committee including:
JACQUE McCORMICK, KARIN SEHLEMYER, MARGIE KOR-SHOJ, LEE KEISH, TOM STEINHOFF, and GEORGE KNOP.
We also want to acknowledge and thank JEFF POLK and the Polk Family Charitable Fund for donating the funds for organizing this special event.
Patti has sent invitations to dog-related businesses and services in the area to set up booths, and has also sent a mailing to recruit event sponsorships
ranging from $50-$500.
If you would like to suggest a sponsor or want to be a sponsor yourself, or have something to contribute for the raffle, please contact PATTI GALLE at 503-636-0714 or 503-309-2405 or email...
